The Karren cable car

Take a trip on the Karren cable car and get away from it all! Wonderful walking tracks await you, as well as fabulous views over the Rhine Valley – especially at night, when can you look down onto a sea of twinkling lights. Day or night; spring, summer, autumn or winter, it’s never the wrong time to visit the Karren peak! The view is always breathtaking. The cable car operates throughout the year, and even runs up till 23.00 in the evening  (24.00 on Fridays and Saturdays!) Visitors are always welcome on the Karren – day or night!

The Rappenloch and Alploch gorges

These two gorges, situated above and below the Staufen lake, are endowed with wild crags and incredible natural rock formations which attract huge number of visitors every year. The impressive Rappenloch gorge is one of the largest in central Europe, and is situated a mere five kilometres from the centre of Dornbirn, at the access point to the Walser village of Ebnit. With impressive rock walls closing in on both sides, narrow stairways, dark tunnels and fascinating cascades, exploring the gorge is an exciting adventure.

Please do touch! The inatura natural history museum specialises in displays covering every aspect of man, technology and the natural world..
In the museum interactive games and video displays share the limelight with live mini-beasts and animal products which can be picked up and looked at.

The latest exhibition highlight involves a trip through the human body.   Questions such as: on which different systems is the human body dependent for survival? How do we actually function? What do these systems do and how are they best provided for? How are we able to think, feel, experience? This is a trip through our own vital organs and, involving use of all our senses, provides a light-hearted way of learning how our body functions and how we can look after it.
